Artists' Submissions and exhibition proposals
If you are an artist and would like to introduce your work to mima please refer to the following guidelines.
• Please send us details of your work by email, including a cover letter, a brief description of your work, CV and up to 5 images in JPG format. JPG attachments should not exceed 1.5 MB in total. Please include a list of works with title, date, media, dimensions/duration.
• Information should be sent to submissions@middlesbrough.gov.uk
• In our efforts to tackle environmental and storage issues we do not encourage submissions by post. We regret that submissions sent by post cannot be kept. Please do not send original material.
• Submissions are reviewed by the team at mima on an on-going basis. Please be patient, a response can take some time due to the volume of material received and our limited staff resources.
• While we are always happy to hear from artists, our exhibition programme is planned two to three years in advance, and is carefully balanced to present our visitors with a varied artistic programme. Therefore, we are only occasionally able to accommodate unsolicited submissions for exhibitions.
• An excellent opportunity for artists to introduce themselves and their work to mima is through mima's annual art fair. Once available, details of how to get involved will be posted on our website.
